NDSU Backs Farmers in Hemp Lawsuit

North Dakota State University is supporting two farmers who are suing the federal government over the right to grow industrial hemp NDSU has filed a legal brief with the court The school s attorney who s a special assistant attorney general says the university s own experience trying to get federal permission for hemp research shows that the farmers have a case Adam Eidinger is a spokesman for the Vote Hemp group which is funding the lawsuit by farmers Dave Monson and Wayne Hauge He says it s the first time he knows of where a state government lawyer has sided with anyone in the hemp industry in a case against the Drug Enforcement Administration The Justice Department wants a federal judge in Bismarck to throw out the case The farmers want the judge to rule in their favor without a trial Oral arguments are set for November 14th
